The device works well as a heater. However, if, like me, you want to use the temperature setting, this is not enough. I've had 2 of these (the 2nd one was supposed to replace the 1st one thinking my block might be faulty) and they both have the same problem. When you set the temp on this heater it has to drop way below that temp to turn on (which was too cold for me) and once it turns on it has to get too hot to turn off (which is too hot) โ it is called hysteresis. For example, if it was set at 72ยฐ, it had to go down to 67ยฐ to turn on, and sometimes even lower, and when on, the room would get as hot as 75ยฐ before turning off. If the hysteresis of the thermostat is too small, there will be rapid cycling where the unit turns off and on frequently, which can be annoying and inefficient for some things (e.g. air conditioning). If the hysteresis is too high (like this device), you'll spend a lot of time being too cold or too hot, and only for a short time will the temperature become comfortable.
