I bought these to replace a basic 4 hole button on a medium weight shirt. The plastic "clasps" are either poorly designed or old and rotten because they shrank and broke every time I tried to thread the clasps through the button. After (6) tries I tried one of the other "bindings" to be used for buttons with holes smaller than the needle. These clasps also broke every time I tried to slip the ends through the buttons. It's like the plastic just snaps under pressure. Even if I could get this to work, I'm not sure they would hold the buttons in place for any length of time, especially during a wash cycle.
