Review on πŸ“Ά Iogear GWHDMS52: Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix for HD 1080p, 3D Content & 5.1 Channel Audio by Justin Jeppi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not always perfect, but usually great

To be honest I've put off this review for months now because I was afraid she was dying and I couldn't give her a high rating. Not sure but it's been 9 months with no major issues so take what you will. I'd say this technology is *just* good enough to buy right now. I only use it directly in a room, no walls or anything. Primarily to use my TV as an extra monitor for my desktop. And for the most part it's perfect. When it's plugged in there's no lag or video quality issues, nothing to suggest I'm doing anything amazing like sending HDMI wirelessly. My only concerns are small but annoying. Switching between inputs takes a few seconds longer than we'd like. Sometimes (maybe once a week or so) the base station and wireless device just won't connect at startup and I have to get up and manually disconnect and reconnect them both. For some reason when I start a show on Netflix there is a resolution change when loading the Silverlight player which causes the device to reconnect to the base. And sometimes during this reconnect it crashes and I have to get up and disconnect/reconnect it. This only happens occasionally, like another problem. In addition, it is very expensive. The matrix is great in most cases and I'm glad I bought it, but the technology isn't perfect yet.
