My wireless adapter was out of date, so I installed a wireless 6 adapter that had to be plugged into the motherboard 9-pin USB connector. My old Dell only had a 9-pin socket. The memory card reader on the front of the case uses one slot. This splitter was easy to install and works great. It came with double-sided tape, which I used to place the splitter in a convenient spot and plug the new Wi-Fi adapter and card reader into it. Ideal! I'm not a geek and that was easy enough.
