My rats love theirs, they are always inside. Also, you can't hate purple, it's just a fun color. It sticks easily to the top of the cage, only pops up when I want to clean it, and it's not difficult at all, excuse the pun. They gnaw a bit on the edges, but after a few months they just made the edges around the holes a bit rough. (It's rats they do) I have one in another cage I got about a year ago and it's still sturdy and the third one I got for mice can hold so much. It's smaller and stands on the floor, but everyone sleeps in it, although everyone will sleep in a cardboard box, so take it as you will. But when I clean up, I don't have to throw it away.
