Review on HoMedics SS-6510BLK Fusion Sound Spa Clock Radio with iPhone / iPod Dock Station (iPhone not included) by Joe Pettigrew

I wanted a sound machine/alarm clock/iPhone charger/player to replace these 3 items on my bedside table. It turns out there aren't many products on the market that meet all three criteria (note to manufacturers!). After thorough research I bought this one. The sound is ok, nothing spectacular but good. The clock and alarm are easy to set which is nice. And then it gets really bad. You need to press the button to turn on the alarm, you switch from alarm 1 to alarm 2, to alarm 1 and 2 to off. not the best setting if your wife gets up after you and doesn't like hearing all those button presses (buttons have a squeezing clicking sound). To make matters worse, the light is so bright that I have to turn it off at night, so in the morning I have to turn the light back on (a few more button presses) before I can turn off the alarm, otherwise I can. t see which of these parameters is set. As for the sound machine, I prefer white noise, which isn't present on this machine. However, the problem is easily solved as I can play white noise from an app on my phone through the speakers. However, it only allows you to select an iPod as a sound option when it's plugged in, and for some reason it doesn't always know when it's plugged in. This causes me to install and uninstall my iPhone multiple times, then scroll through the audio options. (press more keys!) until that happens. Last night I couldn't get it to work at all and slept with no sound (which is why I'm writing this today). And a foosball. The buzzer is barely audible! I'm a pretty light sleeper and slept through the night twice. I've had it for less than a week and every day I used it I woke my wife up. Maybe I need to get rid of it, or there's a good chance she'll beat me to death with it!
