Very durable. I didn't think it would be like this, but it's a serious professional class. The folding thing is beautiful and very reliable. there is nothing artificial about this bad boy. The fold fits on the bottom shelf more than a dinner plate but smaller than a baking sheet. I use it in my outdoor gas pizza oven. very safe and easy to use. Unlike the round handle scale I used to pull pizza in high school, they would all wobble. The wide, flat handle offers a secure hold. I've made pizza on this thing before, but I wouldn't recommend it. We make semolina on a wooden bowl and use it to put raw pizza in the oven. it's bigger and we can make a good pizza. This thing works great for taking out and flipping the pizza and if the pizza is larger no big deal as long as it's done it shouldn't flip. I also flip it over and use it as a sort of scraper to scrape off burnt grit and other toppings that have jumped off the ship. Really good scrub. Trust me I've made thousands of pizzas in my time
