In 2014, after 9 years of use, the original door lock actuator failed. I opened it up and replaced the motor for about $5. The case halves are glued together so after installing the new motor I used hot melt to assemble it as I figured a very thick layer of glue on all sides would hold it in place. In June 2017 it started making a grinding noise so I ordered this part from Revain. When I uninstalled the old part to install the new one, I found the problem. To my surprise, the hot melt adhesive split midway between both pieces, causing it to open slightly and loosen the gears. I was shocked because the hot melt was not brittle but malleable. I put a new part in the car and it worked fine except for one thing. After opening the door, the lock would partially close and then close the door when closed. I lived with him and just made sure to never leave the keys on the seat when I closed the door. In July 2019 I noticed that the remote control continues to work correctly, but the driver's door will not close or open. I decided to repair an old block that I restored by drilling and cutting 2 screw holes to screw the halves together. I then glued the screws with superglue and also glued the seam between the halves with superglue. I installed it in my car today 8-8-19 and it works great. When I removed the Revain part, I carefully checked for any loose wires, connectors, or cords and everything was fine. I have never disconnected the battery or done anything that would reset the power to rule this out. I opened the Amazon section and didn't see anything obvious. I applied 12v to the motor and it spins freely. There are contacts inside the block but no electronics. It's a mystery to me what the problem was but it wasn't intermittent and was dead for weeks.
