They change the position of the car's shoulder belt so that it falls at a more comfortable angle. It is very easy to install and use. I love that it stays on my belt when not in use so it's always there when I need it; and still it doesn't bother me when my husband drives because he doesn't need it. Sometimes I forget until I've ridden for a while, and if I find the shoulder strap bothers me, I can easily slide it through with one hand without taking my eyes off the road. It is so easy. Since it came in a pack of 2 I put the second one in our other car. Some reviews said they didn't last long. I made this purchase in April 2021 so can't confirm how long they will last but would still buy again if anything happened to me.
