Before that I used 28-135. I don't believe in prejudices like "aerial picture", but I can't help it - the picture of this model is really incomparably better than that of the younger ones. This applies specifically to the drawing, high sharpness, etc. go as a separate item, and here, too, everything is fine. At the maximum FR, phase focusing may not find focus if it is very confused - you need to turn on focus search in the camera focus settings after it is impossible to achieve it, then the camera will go through the entire focus range and find it. In other cases, it focuses very quickly. On large FRs, it works quite well as a portrait lens - the background is blurred effectively, beyond 150mm you can already shoot portraits where the eyes are in focus, but the ears / nose are no longer there, although, of course, I would like the DOF to be a little smaller. The lens is reliable - withstood several days of rainy shooting in a row. The forward movement of the zoom is not immediately familiar, but intuitive. If you take a BU, pay attention to the smoothness of the zoom - it should firmly rest in both extreme positions and easily go in an unfixed state. In the fixed one (who doesn’t know - there is a rotary lock on the moving part, it allows you to fix it in any position), on the contrary, it must be held very tightly - so as not to fall out under its own weight in any position, incl. when jerking. The gasket may wear out there, in which case the lens will go jerky, although it will not lose functionality, most likely.
