Review on 💪 Enhanced Performance SanDisk 64GB Extreme Go USB 3.1 Flash Drive - SDCZ800-064G-G46 by Jason Rogness

Update: I recently purchased a SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB which performs the same as the Extreme Go in terms of speed. Buy one of these and stay away from this junk; it may be twice the price, but that's the true power and speed that says on the box of this "Go" product and others. Too bad about the name "Extreme". Alternatively, you can buy the Patriot Magnum/Magnum2 and they work just as well. ) and that's not only wrong, it's also false advertising. This item will not come close to what is listed. Avoid this and pay close attention to the low star ratings for this product and the Pro line (SDCZ880) when you decide to buy so you are not surprised when you get low speeds. Pro devices seem to get a lot of bug/crash reports in addition to slower than advertised speeds. I tried four different systems for the one I got: two AMD and two Intel (one Intel was a laptop) and it worked the same for all. The read speed was nowhere near 200, but depending on the system it worked well, although the reported speed was very erratic. The write speeds on this one are utter nonsense, although no system manages to surpass 40MB/s. I have 3.0 ports on all four systems, so it's not the ports that are the problem here; I've had no issues with other flash drives (including my Patriot Magnum 1 and 2, as well as my high-end SanDisks) and several external mechanical hard drives, all of which outperform this thing in terms of read and write speeds with no issues. hands down I've had my Patriot Magnum 1 128GB for 3 years and it still performs the same as the day I bought it. This copying of a disc onto a Magnum 1 or 2 holds those discs back, so false is the read speed claim. h2testw and Flash Bench) gave the same result everywhere - you can easily see other people's images of these tests here, and the same on my site with slow, falsely advertised speeds. When I first read about these devices I was greeted with reviews of how great they were and I took the reviews here on Revain with a grain of salt. Looking at all the marketing and packaging, Sandisk tends to only list actual write speeds on the packaging if the drive has high quality/fast chips - this has been the practice for years, particularly with their SD cards; You can easily tell this from their other product lines and even their cheap SD cards versus their expensive ones. I've consistently approached all of these speeds over the years as stated. The same goes for their Extreme line - however, something here has failed miserably to the point where it's definitely not true, at least as far as this product is concerned. What is good? At least it happened right away and I'll be returning it, although I won't receive another one. This is completely false advertising, and SanDisk shouldn't claim that something has "up to 150MB/s" write speeds unless they're going to load the drive with chips that are anywhere near half that speed. Self-marketing website even claims this nonsense. The bad above, but the worst part? Visit the Sandisk user forums related to this product and have a look around. Numerous threads of nothing but rude users and moderators blaming other users who go there asking questions why their drives are so slow and pointing fingers at people asking that the slow speed is due to "disk formatting" is due. I've been using them for 30 years now. People seriously claimed that the drive had some kind of special formatting as that was the reason why it became slow after "formatting". Unlikely. If this drive requires special deformatting, if it is separate from the normal NTFS or exFAT features it is intended to use, you should specify it in the manual or elsewhere on the box - such a thing is in no way standard.
