At least, that's what I thought. I work in a warehouse, moving goods from pallets to shelves. This requires frequent bending at the waist, and I've concluded that the flexing causes the strap to operate. In my back pocket I carry a coffee bottle (night workers worldwide unite!), radio, office phone. , pens, keys, etc. My shorts are loaded with weight. When I start this version, my shorts sag immediately. I have to constantly tighten this belt throughout the day. If you don't do things like this on a regular basis, you most likely won't notice this downside. The belt works great as a standard garment. I just wouldn't recommend it for active work.
