I bought this to build my mini bike because it gives a nice realistic feel with a real key instead of a button. The product was neatly packaged, simple design and cheap to buy. I bought the wrong plug, a socket instead of a plug, but I simply replaced the plug with another one I had that was a plug. Plugged in and nothing happens. After a lot of headbanging, I found that the switch only lets power through when the key is in the OFF position! At first I thought it was just a plastic typo. But this key has an unusual design, it blocks the key when it is in the IGNITION position. So in the OFF position you can start the motorcycle WITHOUT a key, nor can you remove the key when it is in the IGNITION position meaning there is no way to safely de-energize the switch. Which makes everything useless. You'd have to use a normally closed relay for it to work properly, but that's a lot more wire, time and money for something that wouldn't need it if done right. For me as an electrician it was weird that the first one was like that. It was annoying for my build because the second one was like that too.
