Be careful using them to trim your toenails if you are diabetic with neuropathy or have loss of feeling in your toes! These things are terribly sharp, and it doesn't take long to slash a finger wide. Ask me how I know. I have fairly extensive diabetic neuropathy and can barely feel my legs. As a diabetic, our feet can be a particular concern. I had to seek help or see an orthopedist to trim my toenails, but I tried it myself. I would normally use standard nail clippers but I have unusually thick toenails so I ordered these. They definitely open wide enough, but like I said, they are HOT! Since I didn't feel anything, I didn't realize that I was grabbing part of the skin on my big toe. It wasn't until I noticed the blood that I realized what had happened. They work, just be careful.
