Im impressed. I have used cooling pad covers in the past and have found them effective, but the cooling material has only ever been on one side. It is 100% cooling material. The material is very smooth and feels silky. It's a great hair and skin feel (even better than my old polyester satin I used before the pillowcases had cooled). The material is cool and doesn't seem to heat up. Pillowcases are very elastic with a small hidden zipper. You cling to the pillow and won't let go. Keeps my pillow looking neat and clean, not sloppy with loose material. I can even fold two pillows together and somehow the pillows don't just slide against each other despite the smooth material. The cooling aspect works by not trapping heat, preventing heat from reaching the pillow and keeping it there. So yes, the pillowcase will end up feeling warm, but if you have a fan or air conditioning, or turn the pillow over, that's really cool. Otherwise, in my experience, the pillow only heats up when I use it without it, stays hot, and even feels hot when flipped over. because the pillow itself kept warm until the end of the night. phew One thing to know, and this is very important - as I've learned the hard way - DO NOT Tumble Dry. DO NOT WASH IN HOT WATER. The heat destroys the material's ability to feel and stay cool. Want a regular pillowcase that locks in warmth? Then tumble dry them a few times and you have a regular pillowcase. How do I know? I bought them to replace another set (different brand, same idea, same instructions which I forgot). I used to tumble dry them and one night after blissfully cool pillows I noticed my pillow was HOT night after night. Then, when I looked for another set of pillowcases, I found that they cannot withstand such heat. So please air dry only. After getting them and putting them on my pillows I had a much better night's sleep. I remember thinking I wouldn't wake up to move my pillows. They just felt comfortable all night. Of course I would have liked an even colder pillow, but our room is warm. But at least I didn't notice hot hot pillows anymore.
