Review on Babycakes Mini Cake Pop Maker by Ali Lariosa

Works great - can just be messy and time consuming

I've only used it once but it's been in use for over an hour so I have a lot of experience! I used the regular mix from the pack. The first batch I tried to just "spoon" into the mixture. It was a disaster. it just took too long and the first scoop or two popped up too quickly so when you closed the lid everything was smeared. Don't worry - easy to clean! I poured the rest of the cake mix into a ziplock bag and cut off the corner for better control of the filling. Filling was quick (just don't squeeze the bag too hard or it will open and you'll have more mess on your hands). As it was our first time we just ate them like cake balls - no chopsticks. , nothing with ice/topping. You were amazing! So I'm not sure how they will hold up to being dipped into the coating. Of course, I used regular box mix, so it shouldn't be completely frozen. There are several recipes in the instructions. I can try them later. I only gave this 4 stars because the balls are small (think quarter if it was a ball) and it took a very long time to even "dig" the dough into the holes. 9 balls at once is not enough. They cook quickly - 4-4 minutes per round. But that means you have to watch out for them. I made it myself which was good. But next time I will have the help of a family member. I can pour in the batter - they might burst into balls when done. Nothing is stuck - everything is clean. Even spills or overflows! I didn't have to spray it on before use. I don't know how it will be used in the future. Overall, I recommend this, especially for those who don't want to make "traditional" cake pops (which are way too cute for me!). I think it would be cute for some themed desserts like spaghetti and meatballs or something like that.
