This was necessary for our apartment as our previous tenants broke the lease, rolled cheap cigarettes and smoked heavily in the apartment. The restoration company offered us $8,000 to remove most of the nicotine smell. We only used it to see if we could save some of that 8,000 knowing the tenants would never pay. It really works alone with multiple layers. The smell has decreased by 80-85%. We painted almost every surface, walls (after stripping the wallpaper), closets, ceilings, countertops, the inside of each closet, etc. Our apartment is 1,200 square feet and we used an incredible 12 gallon (2 x 5 gallon buckets) which was even more economical. as a restoration company, but depending on the need, it can reduce strong odors and block stains. The nice thing is that it dries bright white and is a seal at the same time. This saved the ceilings from having to be repainted and the cost of contacting a restoration company.
