We have a large stream about 250 meters behind our house. My 10 year old son is an avid fisherman. Yelling in the woods to check on him is inconvenient and I wish he could come to me quickly when he needs me. My son is hard on everything because he's a normal 10-year-old kid. I bought them because the price was right and they got good reviews. It looks like they are suitable for our purposes. After about a month and a half of using it 3-5 times a week, I would recommend it to everyone. The second week we had them, reception became spotty after being out for about 3 hours. When he arrived that evening, his radio was wet. I asked him what happened. My dear son turned on the light upstairs and put his walkie talkie in the stream to get a better view of the live bait. <face palm>. Then he became blotchy. He thought they were waterproof. I explained to him that they weren't. He understood everything and agreed not to do it again if they at least worked the next day. After a night of drying and charging, they worked like new. Three days ago he came and told me that his walkie-talkie had accidentally fallen into a creek and it was "approx. 14 seconds” to get it out again. with your network. This time he was completely submerged in water. He said he turned it off as soon as he took it out (like I taught him last time). I was certain that this was the end of radio. I let it dry overnight. The next day, to my surprise, it worked. although it didn't get the correct channel numbers. I removed the battery and let it dry a little more, then plugged it into the charger last night, assuming it will probably end up in the bin today. Lo and behold, this walkie-talkie works like new again. I'm a little surprised these things live on after being submerged in such a current. And all to say that once my son actually kills these critters, I'll buy the exact same ones next time. - Happy mother.
