Fantastic! My wife bought them for our kids to play army in our house. On a whim we recently took her on a hike in Yosemite, again just for the kids. In the end they saved our ass! Turns out cell phones don't work in most of Yosemite Valley! It was the only way we could communicate when we were apart. These walkie-talkies are no joke, they have insane range. miles and miles. Really good value for money.

They charge via USB. So if you need a power adapter these aren't the ones. We've traveled around the US with them and they worked great. Whenever we heard someone on our public channel, we tuned them down and we've never had a problem using them on the public channels. The distances varied, but we were always within reach. We just plugged them into a USB charger while driving and never had a problem. For the money they were absolutely perfect for this app!

We bought these based on their good reviews and previous people using them in Yosemite. We took them on an 11 day trip to Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Sequoia parks where our group was split into two cars and they did a great job! These radios do not have many of the features advertised. You have no channel search, VOX (voice operated broadcasts), alarms or channel monitors.
