Bought this for our 10 year old daughter as she thought it looked cute and fun. When we received it she put it on and liked the way it looked. Wife liked that it was built into the shorts so no worries. I would say that the red color is not bright red but more of a reddish orange tinge. More red than orange, but not the main red. In terms of cost, it's a little pricey, but not that terrible. All in all a cute skirt for her.
