The yarn is soft enough (not like the Bernat chunky) but soft enough for the thickness of yarn that it is. I'm disappointed that I bought the (full spectrum) yarn based on the green lead off pattern into the multicolor with into a minimal blue. Turns out there's no blue at all the pattern leads off with a very basic purple, then to the multicolor back to purple. I hate when I look at images on Ebay and the product doesn't look like what I intended to buy. So I guess just be aware that pattern might vary when you buy it.
