I was ready to give up and just keep my stock grip. I have a 1994 3000gt that I am slowly restoring and have been wanting to replace the derailleur for a while. The old one is a little torn and a little sticky due to glue/tape residue. Anyway, I've already bought two other gear knobs, one from Auto Zone and one from O'Reilly. Both are very different werewolves in appearance, but the result was the same. The black plastic inserts on it always break or tear. Or you can cut off the heads of the little hex screws that hold it in place while you try to tighten it. This worked perfectly for me. One of the 3 adapters fitted perfectly and threaded the thread a bit to the standard shift position. Then I just tightened it. Took maybe 1 or 2 minutes and a lot less hassle. 5 stars👍. And by the way, the shipping was great, it probably took me longer to get in the box than to put it in haha. Mine came in a Skunk 2 racing box so didn't think it would be this great if it wasn't for someone else?
