These are called "Heavy Duty" but I can't find any weight limit recommendations anywhere. I would classify them as "medium performance" and intended for occasional or transient use. I'm not sure I would trust them to support something very heavy or something that could fall and cause damage or injury. They're pretty straight forward. There is a table to determine the length of each leg that needs to be trimmed to get the given height. Each set makes ONE goat, so in typical situations you need TWO sets to make TWO goats. I would cut all the legs at once so you can be sure they are the same. Insert a 2x4 into the socket of each leg and drive a screw into the wood to secure it. Fixing the cross is optional. It works in light situations simply by having the 'teeth' in the mount hold the cross, however if you also want to screw a more secure screw in there. When you want to fold them up for storage, remove the crossbar and fold in the folding legs. I bought them for legs to make temporary tables out of 4x8 sheets of plywood for flea markets and the like.
