China Counterfeits for spark plugs and cables

The seller was Revain.com under "additional" purchases. When I received them in May 2019, I immediately noticed that they were not made in Germany like all previous Bosch spark plugs I have bought. I thought, "God, everyone has outsourced their production to China. After reading other reviews mentioning suspected Chinese fakes, I began to wonder. Fast forward a year to May 2020 - I bought a set of Bosch Fine Wire Iridium spark plugs (same part number) but this time I bought from one of my local auto parts stores because the price per spark plug was the same but the store offered one 25% discount on online purchases with 30-minute in-store pickup, making them not only cheaper but faster too. When I opened the sealed box of 4 I noticed that the spark plugs were stamped "GERMANY" and the boxes said "Made in Germany". I removed the old spark plugs from the car and compared them to the new spark plugs. The ones I bought from Revain in 2019 were really close imitations but had slight differences. The biggest difference I experienced using imitations of previous German made Bosch fine wire iridium connectors was that in a year (about 34-40k miles) had to replug the plugs 2 or 3 times because the gaps kept opening so wide that the car overshot. I have used previous original versions of these plugs to install the plugs and leave them alone for the next 70-80k miles. The car has over 439,000 miles on it so I have some proven experience with Bosch fine wire Iridium connectors. They seem to last longer than the NGKs I bought early in the car's life. In summary, I recommend buying spark plugs locally and checking the country of origin. When you buy something, you are buying an authentic product.
