Review on πŸ’» CHUWI HeroBox Pro Mini PC with Windows 10, Intel Jasper Lake N4500, 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD by Leo Fairchild

Great mini pc for office work, surfing the web or watching videos/videos/youtube/streaming

so-called serious gamer - or video editing etc etc. But for most of the rest of us.) This is a great one , silent (no fan!) package that comes with a bracket for mounting behind your TV or desktop monitor. I was skeptical of the N4100 Celeron - the Celeron has traditionally been Intel's low-end "budget/entry" line of processors - but it actually seems that with the included 8GB DRAM and 180GB SSD the N4100 Celeron is fast enough - slightly too replacing my old laptop which I was using as a desktop system. This Herobox features an easy-to-access empty bay for a 2.5" SATA drive - simply unscrew the six screws on the back (one is covered by a sticker) and insert any standard SATA/SSD (or HD) a. For permanent mounting I recommend using mounting screws - 4 attach the rails to the case and 4 are included in a small pouch to attach the drive to the rail. I've installed a 500GB SSD that boots into XUbuntu Linux - works great - and can (dual) boot into the provided Windows 10 "Home" software if I need/want to run an app I need for Linux can't find (control software I had to use last week -- () Linux allows you to mount and access your Windows "C" partition as well as enough ports, but if you need more just get yourself a USB hub - I didn't want to do it.)

Pros
  • Unique design
Cons
  • poorly thought out
