Review on πŸ§— Ultimate Performance: La Sportiva Men's TarantuLace Rock Climbing Shoe by Evan Hernandez

Almost perfect fit, coarse loops on the heel, turning into a boot

I started bouldering about a month before buying these shoes; before that he wore skates. It was a definite improvement. Deducted 1 star for the second issue below. The sizing was almost perfect but the shoes have a little more room for my toes. I can only stress the importance of trying on shoes before you buy them as you may not have the same issues as me. Size (purchased size 44.5 M EU): I usually wear size 11 sneakers, which are a good size. room for my fingers. I have had discomfort in the past with shoes that were too tight for my feet and I have worn Asics for more than 10 years because they fit perfectly. The TarantuLace shoes fit almost perfectly, with a little more room (1cm) in front of my big toe. When I tighten the laces, the extra room becomes less of an issue, but I have an issue when I'm on tiny snags. However, I'm climbing at a lower level (currently doing v3) and will wait a while before buying new shoes as my technique improves and I wear them out. Fits snugly around my heel and is the perfect width for my foot. Roughness on the heel: The loops (not sure if they have a name) on the heel, where you put the shoe on or hang it, have a rough texture and go inside the shoe. Shoes aren't supposed to move on your feet - although I doubt you can actually achieve zero mobility - but the rough texture started blistering on my heels very quickly. This mostly disqualifies the product for me, but since I was lazy and ordered them online before trying them on, I could either return them or live with them. I got out my mom's sewing kit and carefully cut the threads at the attachment points of the loops on the inside of the boots, then sewed them on the outside. The shoes are a little harder to put on with the loops but they are very comfortable once I put them on.
