This year my husband decided to run a marathon with me. I've been wearing them for many years now and have always preferred ASICS. More specifically, the Gel Nimbus. I was nervous though as he had major reconstructive surgery on his leg while in the military where he still has 12 screws and 2 steel plates holding the leg together. Most often, after a long walk, he feels pain in the leg, which is to be expected after such a traumatic event in this area. However, I dare not stop him from this new venture! So instead I tried to set him up for success by getting him his first pair of proper running shoes. He tried running in Nike running shoes, which I believe was at the root of a lot of the pain he experienced post-run. As he started walking in his ASICS, his face lit up. It was as if he had access to a whole new world! He completed a 10-mile training run on Monday (now Wednesday) and has no residual pain in his leg. It was the longest run he has ever run! We are both really looking forward to this new chapter in our lives where we can start this new active running and marathon journey TOGETHER! All thanks to ASICS! We have since gone back and bought him another pair for everyday use. I don't think he will ever wear anything else haha!
