ML619 - works great but don't forget to update the software at @www.autel.com.

To diagnose the ABS malfunction indicator light on my 2001 Nissan Maxima I purchased the OBDII port on my Maxima and followed the procedures outlined in the manual. When I pressed the button to use the ABS module, the Autel ML619 gave me an error message asking me to check the connection and/or make sure the device is configured correctly for my vehicle. Tried and flashed a few times, rechecking the OBD II connection. I've gone through the manual and all the buttons on the device and there aren't any settings that need to be changed for my car. I tried this again on my Subaru Impreza which had a Check Engine Light error and was able to read the Check Engine error but got the same error message from the ABS module. Needless to say I was frustrated and repackaged the item to return to Revain. Then I thought let me check the website and maybe contact support. I opened a support chat window and asked them about my specific machine. They told me it should work but I had to update the software on the device by downloading it from the website. I downloaded the software update app they recommended and connected the device to my computer with the INCLUDED USB cable. The only problem was that the app couldn't find the Autel ML619 to update even though it was connected to the PC. I contacted support again and they said that the USB cable didn't work, that I had to remove the microSD card from the device and plug it into the PC. The only thing is that most PCs don't have a microSD port, just a standard SD port. Luckily I had an adapter handy. As soon as I put the Autel 619 MicroSD in the adapter and in the port, the application immediately found it and gave out a whole bunch of machines by manufacturer for update. I selected the ones that interested me and they were updated immediately. I reconnected the microSD card to the ML619, put it in my car, ran the ABS module and it worked! Note 1: The technical support at Autel was fantastic. they were very patient. Note 2: The manual sucks, it doesn't say anything about not using a USB cable. I'm not even sure why they give it to you. Note 3: If you don't have a PC and only have an Apple Mac, please contact support. You have a link to download the app for Mac. For some reason it cannot be downloaded from the website.
