This is a great way to replace them
Our old rings broke off our old keys. This is a great way to replace them. You MUST put your own internals in your own key holders. Be very careful with the battery holder, it is very fragile and can easily break if you are not careful. When we replaced the key fobs, for some reason the new plastic cover (the flexible rubber piece with the "lock, unlock and panic button") did NOT work. Big.
