Overall I feel like I wasted my money on this. I've been using the original Meguiar Clay Bar Set for a number of years. and decided to try this when my bars needed replacing. Here's what I experienced: - Embossing (with Hybrid Clay) just doesn't fit well in my medium sized hands so I had a hard time holding it. I've had several instances where the pad just popped out of my fingers. With a traditional crayon I can feel the process as the emulsion releases the color and you can feel the color 'smoothing out'. The pad doesn't give me the same feedback. Not even close. I agree with other comments that it seems like you really need to over-wet the paint for the pad to work at some level. It feels like I've spent more time chasing the stock than working on the process. Finally I don't feel the final works are as good as the bar to remove dirt from the paint. I haven't compared the pad to a barbell, but I can tell you it's not that effective.
