UPDATE 07/08/2021: So after contacting the seller and Creality (via email of course) I received my replacement board, installed it and had an absolute IMPACT print with this printer. because the! While I haven't made any major upgrades (yet), I've printed some pretty cool stuff on it. I would NOT recommend it as an entry-level printer. Although I'm new to 3D printing, I've been a professional engineer for almost 30 years. UPDATE: I figured out how to contact the seller (MKK) through Revain. I sent them a message with a link to my extruder problem. I will post another update later based on my interaction with them. UPDATE 6/17/2021: After reviewing the cost of a new stepper motor for my Y axis, I decided to keep the printer and just swap out the motor. My new stepper motor arrived, I hooked it up and it's working great! NOW the extruder doesn't work! It's not an extruder stepper motor because I connected the X-axis cable to the extruder motor (they use the exact same stepper motor), moved the X-axis manually with the controller, and the extruder motor worked. Then I connected the extruder cable to the X axis and tried to control it from the controller but it didn't move. So that tells me the problem is in the controller block itself! Reading this list, I see how MKK are promoting themselves to hire X engineers and how well they support their products, so I decided to contact them. I can't find anywhere how to contact them. There was no information about them in the box, I even searched on facebook hoping they have a facebook page to post to, nothing! They didn't even respond to my review! Do yourself a favor if you are thinking of shopping at this store. Try to find MKK contact information. Enough said. They didn't even respond to my one star review. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE ORIGINAL POST: I was VERY excited to print my first print on this beast! Watched a few assembly videos, followed the included instructions to the T, plugged it in, followed the instructions to the auto-zero, and all hell broke loose! It started making horrible noises, so I quickly unplugged it (it was faster than pressing a switch). I figured I might have done something wrong connecting the wires from the stepper motor and encoder, so I double and triple checked everything and everything was as it should be. I'm an electrical engineer with over 15 years experience so my instinctive side of troubleshooting came into play. I tried auto-zeroing again and the same thing happened, but I noticed that the y-axis (bed) wasn't moving. At least not the way he should move. He just sat there and stuttered. I disconnected again and did a FOURTH check to make sure it wasn't tied to anything. Check. I then checked the belt, pulley and made sure I could freely move the bed back and forth with my hand with the block off. Check. I plugged it back in, went to the manual axis adjustment screen, selected the Y axis and tried moving it 1mm at a time. It will move 1mm once, then come back, then stutter and go nowhere. Then I decided to disconnect the X-axis and connect the Y-axis to it to rule out controller/short cable/connector issues. The X axis moved normally. It confirmed what I was already beginning to fear. The Y-axis stepper motor was defective. Now for support. I grabbed the warranty card that was still in the box, hoping to find a phone number I could call to maybe have a new stepper motor shipped to me. I found a support phone number. In China. I don't think I'll be calling internationally for support. I prefer to take it apart, put it back together and send it back. Very sad. I really wanted to do my first FDM print with this printer (I also have 2 resin 3D printers).
