These rolls have a 40mm hole diameter. The outer diameter of the roll is 140 mm. In the middle in between there is a diameter of 90 mm. Thus, the average perimeter of each sheet of paper towel is pi x 90 = 307.44 mm. Using a micrometer, I found that the thickness of a paper towel is 0.64mm. Since each side of the roll is 50mm thick, there should be 78,125 plies of paper towel, ie 78 plies with an overlap of 0.125 of the mean ply circumference. With an average circumference of 307.44mm, the total length of the towels should be 24018.75mm. The width of each sheet is 6 inches or 152.4 mm. That means there should be 157.6 sheets. Rounded up, 158 is an accurate representation of the number of leaves in each roll. So I can confirm that these reels are really huge according to my calculations. They also appear to be strong and absorbent, but I haven't checked this mathematically.
