They were a good thickness for the price but the description really shouldn't say they can be used for laser engraving. I bought them specifically for surface laser engraving and the results were sketchy and inconsistent at best. I had to throw away so many because the laser didn't evenly penetrate the slightly shiny wooden surface. It wasn't due to problems with the wood structure, as these cartridges have almost no structure. In most cases, the laser beam simply bounces off the wood instead of cutting it. I guess I'll bang this on the "you get what you pay for" error. Other wood blanks work fine so I know my laser isn't the problem. It's these wooden cartridges. :-(
