Review on 🌐 Garmin nüvi 1250T 3.5-Inch GPS Navigator with Traffic for Enhanced Portability by Sam Calderon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The driving stress reduction I dreamed of a few years ago!

I bought this unit because I need to travel from one city/work to another during rush hour every day. If I had taken the "right" route and the traffic had been okay, I would have made it on time. Otherwise. Well, needless to say, making the disc was very stressful. Internet traffic was stale within 15 minutes of walking down the street. This GPS is very easy to use. Checks traffic very often (perhaps all the time?). I had it not long ago, but it has told me to get off the freeway and take a different route at times. Luckily, this allows me to identify when changes are needed before I even realize there's a problem ahead. I stop worrying about the traffic and strain to see what lies ahead; I know I'm taking the best available route, that's all! It's too dark for me and I've yet to figure out how to keep it from doing that. I can change the brightness in this case, but it's difficult when I can barely see the screen. To be honest I haven't read ANYTHING in the manual; I just started using it right away and this is the only problem I have with the device. It's very easy to use. Sometimes the device lost satellite reception due to bad weather. So far, this only affected traffic reception, was very brief and the map function still worked (the journey was already planned). I still take this as an indication that if I have a longer trip ahead of me, it makes sense to print the map off the internet (as a backup) before leaving. On a long journey, note that this gives the time of arrival but not the day of arrival (unless I had to read the manual to learn how to switch views or something). Finally, the speed limit seems to be taken into account when calculating the arrival time. However, I think that traffic lights are not taken into account. Add any minutes you need for this purpose as travel times seem a bit understated. It still gets me going faster than I could on my own, so overall I'm very happy with this purchase. If anything happened to my Garmin I would buy another one in a heartbeat. It was worth taking the stress out of and making me look amazing as an employee who is always early now! UPDATE 2 months later: Well, the voice just disappeared from the device. :( I finally opened the manual and it has a one year warranty through Garmin. I'll follow their instructions to return it and I'll update here again on what's going on. I think because the other reviewer had more issues , I won't be sad if I just end up getting a refund and buying another Garmin device, but the manual says the company decides whether to fix the problem or send a refund.

Pros
  • Free lifetime traffic and FM traffic receiver
Cons
  • I'll write later
