I bought this as a gift for someone else so I will not be using this product personally. However, I will update the review if I receive any feedback or photos on the actual use of the product. Nothing in the box or the box itself was broken, dented, or leaking. Note if other reviews showed it was a double pack or it was the result of mixing leaking oils with dye which caused more damage based on other reviews and they wanted to doubly guard against that. I also noticed that there is already a battery in the thermometer. I was prepared to receive the battery before giving it away but was pleasantly surprised I didn't need it. Looks like a small button cell. I would also like to point out that if you are giving this to someone as a gift you can easily remove the packaging to check the contents and put it back on as if it had never been opened. I did this to put a few items in the box to make sure there weren't any oil spills or paint leaks. So if you want to add something like extra wicks, or in my case I added butterfly wick holders that can make two wicks instead of one in the middle, you can easily do that. Everything seemed to be taken into account, so I am happy with the purchase. I chose this one because it has a handy storage box, additional shapes and carving options, and because the handle on the pot sticks out straight. I imagine this makes it much easier to put it in another pot of boiling water. I would say this would make a lovely gift for anyone who is a little smart. I'm actually jealous I don't have one because I've never made candles before and it looks like it could be fun.
