I bought these because I read all the great reviews but I just don't think people are smart about it, maybe? Be careful and here's why. I work in data recovery and the reliability of data on a flash drive is no match for any price. I needed some flash drives to give my customers back their data. So I guess the drive doesn't need to be the fastest, it just needs to store the data properly. I tell my clients that they need to transfer data from the hard drive to their computer and once they are satisfied that the data is safe, then and only then do I remove it from my storage. Let me tell you about my experience with these flash drives. First of all, I was never able to properly format this flash drive. I've never had to use Unix instead of Disk Utility on a Mac to format this properly. Then, even after it formats the input, it's like watching molasses fall out of a tree in December. OMG 8MB per second write speed when USB 2 can theoretically reach 53MB/s!* (USB 2 uses 1ms frames while in high-speed mode (480Mb/s) they are divided into 8 microframes. 1000 * 8 * 512 * 13 = 53248000 = 53MB/s) Even after testing the drive with the Blackmagic speed test and seeing 8MB/s it still didn't come close when trying to move files onto it. 1GB of data took almost 2 hours! It's 0.13 MB/s and trust me, my 2015 Mac Pro isn't the bottleneck.
