Review on 🔋 BTECH Battery Eliminator BL-5 for BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R Radios by Julian Davidson

Great product, I like that unlike others they come with a pacifier. I ordered two of these and both could come apart at the bottom if the tab doesn't click properly. A little grinding and now the latches work fine. Update: Fire hazard if not changed. The metal pin that runs down the center channel of the battery may come loose on its own and touch one of the pins that power the radio. When this happens the metal turns red, the plastic starts to melt then I'm sure a fire will ensue, but I had an open case when it happened and was just draining the batteries very quickly to try for more to avoid damage. I still keep this product 4 stars because there are very few use cases for AA battery with Baofeng, it just needs a little modification. I used some high temp RTV silicone sealant to keep the metal tab from coming out and making contact with the metal above. It's not perfect, but it can't catch fire anymore. You can see in the photo where the metal got hot, where it discolored on the right radio contact, and the silicone gasket I used to keep the piece from touching it again.
