I purchased this skirt to wear for family photos on the beach. I haven’t had the opportunity to do that yet, but I am pleased with the skirt and think it will look great in the photos. I purchased the tan color and it comes with only one layer over the (shorter) slip layer. The fabric in that one layer is so plentiful that I thought there were two layers. It’s really lovely in that regard. As far as sizing goes, I ordered a small. I can usually go with either small or medium, but in this case I chose small because medium was out of stock in the color I wanted. The small fits just fine, and I suspect that due to the elastic waist, the medium would work as well. The length could be a hair longer. For walking around in, I’d prefer the length that it is, but since I wanted it for beach photos, I was hoping for a bit more length. To help with sizing: I am 5’5” and about 135lbs. I usually wear a 6/8 jeans and small or medium tops.
