Won't even hold on to itself

I don't know if it's me or the band. But there are definitely some downsides to using duct tape. I actually have an exterior/weather patch/sealing tape that would work just fine, but I wanted something thinner. So I saw this tape and bought it. I used it to wrap a CAT6 cable in cement outdoors. The cement was a little porous, but not to the extent that the tape was a problem. Maybe it's my fault for expecting it to stick. The problem was that I was layering the tape on myself. The tape may have torn itself off after about an hour. Thus, not only did it not stick to the surface, but it also did not stick to itself. the entire tape so it was useless to send it back. I ended up using Gorilla Tape and it holds a lot tighter and is very strong on the cement and on itself. It's definitely just a temporary fix, but I mean more than an hour before we start shooting. The weird thing is that while the tape came off right away, it stuck very well to one area, which was weird since there was nothing else in that area. If it was that sticky all around it would be good enough for my application. Edit: The Gorilla Tape is still holding up after a month of heavy sun and light rain.
