This dock is full of inconsistencies. Please note that I have experienced all the errors described in previous posts, so I will not repeat these points here. From the moment I integrated it into my system I couldn't use its potential as I had a defective device. At least that's what customer service says. I always read reviews before buying no matter the price. The reviews for this product were average, but I decided to take a chance. Sometimes I manage to avoid problems with products despite the problems of other reviewers. Unfortunately, Home Deluxe is not the reason for my success story. The main problem I had with Home Deluxe was the connection/interface. After connecting the dock to my Mac via USB, nothing happened. iTunes failed to start. The iPod was not mounted. As a Mac user of choice, I began to assume that this was a pervasive issue (compatibility). I could not receive a video signal via the S-cable. The composite cable gave a picture but since I have an LCD the picture was terrible. As for the slideshow, I couldn't view any of the photos. When I called customer service I was lucky enough to resolve the issue with a lady who almost blamed me for the device not working as advertised. I had TV-out enabled for both video and slideshows. She told me to turn off the TV in the photo settings and keep it on in the video, meaning if both were on it wouldn't work. She didn't listen to my situation. If she had listened, she would have known immediately that I had video over composite connections. I intervened, feeling like she was blaming my iPod for the lackluster performance. She told me that they have problems with the firmware of some devices. I told her I couldn't get to her "Updates" page. She said it would be sold out for a few more weeks. She put me off a bit only to come back and ask about my faulty Home Deluxe. I asked them if I should return it and buy another brand or just replace it. She put me back on pause, came back, was silent for a while and told me to just replace it with another Home Deluxe. Like she's telling me to try another company. I was also pleased that the sound was good.
