In my quest to simulate surround sound, as in the glory days of Aureal3D, I have used a variety of digital processing devices with support for various audio formats. This one works pretty well and has a bass boost feature. The cable is long enough for me to place it almost two meters off the ground. Over the years I've learned not to like banana plugs and heavy DC-DC converters. This hangs without removing the device from its place on the entertainment shelf. You can find better surround sound but it's a risky hunt as my first set had great surround sound but the left and right channels were swapped. With the growing interest in wireless devices, virtual surround sound for headphones is becoming increasingly difficult to find. I'll take what I can get that won't break the bank.
