inexpensive and with good bass boost.

In my quest to simulate surround sound, as in the glory days of Aureal3D, I have used a variety of digital processing devices with support for various audio formats. This one works pretty well and has a bass boost feature. The cable is long enough for me to place it almost two meters off the ground. Over the years I've learned not to like banana plugs and heavy DC-DC converters. This hangs without removing the device from its place on the entertainment shelf. You can find better surround sound…

Owner 6 years with PlayStation Systems

Well I recently bought one to replace what I thought was broken what I have at home (only had a bad wire so I returned it) , which I've been using it for about 6 years now so I think I should leave a review haha. Having a bunch of cables in front of your system might be ugly, but this thing works great! I personally use a couple of vintage Sennheiser 595s (which still get your Astros and Turtles out of the water btw) and the level of detail combined with the Dolby surround sound it offers is…

DS is great! Works as it should!

My first headset was an X-41 which was decent. My complaints were: 1) Dead batteries so rechargeable batteries were a must (another $40 on top of your $200 investment) 2) Wireless is interfering with a lot of signals around the house (especially if you're using a wireless adapter on your XBox) 3 ) High price. When X11 came out the price dropped and I've never looked back. The sound quality was a bit poor, but the slight improvement you got with the 41 didn't justify the $140 price difference…

Great sound, light weight and easy to use

Mainly used as a headphone amp with optical connection and that alone was worth the money (the Dolby Bypass button on the box just leaves the signal with no 7.1 conversion by the processor). I've tried it out with a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones and a pair of Grado SR80 and they sound great on both (the Grado sounds better and a bit clearer where the difference was previously imperceptible) connected via an optical connection on my motherboard are connected -in sound card. The sound…

I just wanted to watch BluRay movies at night which is great!

I agree with csmith400's review. I don't usually play FPS and for fun prefer Eden or Peggle on Ps3 so can't comment but Eden sounds great! Then I turned on Harry Potter 7 part 1 and 2 and was blown away. I don't have high end headphones so I plugged in my regular pair to listen to MP3s. This 7.1 channel Ear Force DSS Dolby Surround Sound Processor has helped me in many ways. My apartment shares a living room wall with my neighbors' bedroom, and after some knocking late at night I wanted to put…

Properly selected headphones give amazing results!

First of all I think you really need to consider if this is really what you need considering full house heather can be more advantageous and is not expensive these days you will find very good values from many brand companies. The reason I bought this. I usually work late into the night and sometimes I want to play my video games when I go home. I used stereo headphones, they work, but surround sound really gives an advantage in gaming. There's not much to say about this device, it does exactly

best not to connect directly to tv

I originally planned to connect it directly to the tv so I don't have to keep switching optical cables between PS3 and Xbox360 which both are via HDMI with my TV connected. The problem is that while DSS only gives you Dolby Pro Logic IIx, which is certainly an improvement, it's not the 7.1 surround sound you're really paying for. So my solution was to get an extra optical cable (so I plugged it into each console), keep the ends of the connection within reach, and just plug the end of the…

Standard SRS Tech - Accessories

I have a first generation SRS box somewhere, bought around 1993/94. Analog mode sounds about the same as it did back then. For use with Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Earphones and Monster Beats bye Dre fully closed in-ear style earphones. Satellite receiver and analogue PS3 over 90W Buttkicker via analogue input via two to one 3.5 jack plug. PS3 via optical cable. They are then sent to the ProMedia speakers via a 3.5 cable. Bits connect to the ProMedia headphone output. Needless to say they all have…

Love it!: PlayStation 3

Love it! I'm so glad I bought it. I can watch movies in my apartment with surround sound without disturbing my pesky neighbors. I have a good pair of on-ear headphones and they work great with this device. I watched Fury last night and actually felt the roar of the engines and the roar of the guns, like my surround sound system was on. In fact, I really thought my system was on. I took off the headphones a couple of times to make sure they were off (and they were). The extra bass makes a big…
