I have a 2.5 inch hard drive that I use with a USB to SATA cable from time to time and it works great except that it doesn't pre Protects against dust and I wanted something I had Buy 3 of these cases for a limited time and I've tried 2 of them both had the same issue. I plugged it in, plugged it in, the blue light comes on, everything seems fine, but reading the disk takes forever. Actually when reading the disk it freezes and my whole computer so I can't do anything. I was able to pull up task manager, tried to figure out why it was freezing, and saw that it was taking up a ton of space on my internal hard drive while it froze. I have no idea what he did to my inner drive that he uses so much of it, but the story just keeps getting worse. When it finally comes back from the hang and lets me see the files on the external drive are not working. but they work fine when i use my cable but not with this case. It does not make sense. My hard drive is 2TB, this unit claims to work with drives up to 6TB so I don't understand what the problem is, but it's definitely a problem. did this on 2 out of 3 cases, didn't bother to check the 3rd as I'll be back.
