This is a simple tool and I was sure it would do the job but I read the reviews carefully so I knew I had to replace the upper parts of the chain link should grind. Rivets before attempting to pop one out with this tool. So I took out my Dremel and carved two rivets and then tried to attach the tool but found that the threads in the tool were too thin to withstand the force required to push the rivet out. The carving was almost smooth so the tool was useless. I ended up sanding more with a dremel and then used a large flathead screwdriver inside the link to loosen it. The tool is nothing more than a paperweight, I have many of them. I haven't used any other similar tools advertised on Revain to break the chain so I can't compare this tool to anything else but I would recommend just doing it the old fashioned way and not settling for a useless one Frustrating tool that requires this to do half the work before you even try to use the tool.
