Most people seem to use these for automotive applications; For me it was a lifeline on the shower drain. The drain in a cast cement shower tray (e.g. Oatey 423202) must fit into a 2" or 3" PVC drain pipe. With a 3" system, the shaft fits into the 3" tube. However, the fit is loose and the gap is too large for a tight cement seal. The industry doesn't make flexible PVC couplings that I could find. This gem solved my problems! If I ever have problems (because I'm not using it as intended), it's enough to simply replace the clutch with another one.
