It's meant to slide on the mattress cord - a real nail breaker
We have a new queen-size mattress and our sheets keep getting bunched up, so I decided to give these things a try. I bought 2 sets. There's no way I could use them for the sheets I change weekly. Two broken nails trying to tighten the mattress cord to hold the sheet, I finally figured out that you clip it on one end and once it's hooked try tightening. Bottom line, I use them on the mattress pad - 3 on each side and 2 at the foot of the bed. I only wash the protector seasonally. I bought one of the "original" slide sheet clips which are MUCH easier to use.
