Not very soft, but very well made!
These beds (I bought two different sizes) are made for a dog crate so it's not really a dog bed to be honest. So it's a bit stiff and not very comfortable. But I like fabrics for summer because it's not that hot. I bought a roll of foam rubber and put it under the bed and it has softened up a bit, also I always put a small dog blanket in my dog beds to keep the bed snug. I haven't washed it yet but it's very well made and I think it'll be fine.
