If the mirror doesn't sit flush with the frame, see

My daughter yanked our 2011 Camry off the safety bar. While not a complete match, our metallic gray is pretty close. We didn't paint. Installation was very easy, except initially the mirror did not sit flush with the frame, especially on the front of the car. If left like this significant moisture will get in etc. After a little further investigation I found that this was because the car's frame was slightly swollen at the mirror bolt closest to the front of the car if that Original the mirror is broken. The location was far enough from the window that I felt safe enough to use a small hammer to knock out the bulge, but be careful! I've managed to get it to the point where it doesn't harmonize perfectly, but it's very, very close. I've seen reviews from others that don't have a flush fit and I believe this may be the case for those whose mirrors have been ripped off and don't have a flush fit.
