I love new things. I've never heard of magnetic tape before, and yet, "Hey, if Stanley's team made magnetic tape, I bet there's all sorts of research on why they put it in there, so I should buy it." I like the FatMax part about the band because it's wider, easy to read, and you can send the band 11 feet without support before it collapses, but the magnet hasn't really gotten much use yet. I've found it to be very good at picking up lots of scrap metal and paperclips off the floor, which is pretty annoying. The magnet isn't as strong as I thought it would be and won't hold screws buried in drywall like I thought it would. It's like asking someone to hold one end of the tape, and every time you move further than their distance, they drop it. The only thing I see for a magnet is if you drop a nut while working on your car's engine, you can measure how deep it has gone before pulling it out.
