Review on πŸ“Ά Iogear GWHDMS52: Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix for HD 1080p, 3D Content & 5.1 Channel Audio by Aaron Guy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product works great (except for a few glitches). would recommend.

I have been using this product for almost two months now. I have a 50" LED TV connected to the transmitter and a 75" LED TV connected to the receiver which is about 40 feet away. I have a Dish Network, Blu-ray and Xbox 360 set top box connected to the transmitter. The end result is that the product works and is very easy to install. I would recommend this product although it has a few glitches but nothing major. First, the receiver loses signal to the transmitter from time to time for no reason. The signal usually returns after about 5-15 seconds. Second, on at least two occasions when I turned on the TV, it took about a minute for the wireless receiver to connect to the transmitter. Then, when one TV is turned on and the second TV switches to the same component as the first TV, both TVs turn off for about 5 seconds. Not sure why this is happening. Finally, the worst bug (but easy to fix) is that if the transmitter and receiver are tuned to the same component and one of the TVs is off, the signal to the on TV will dim every 10-15 seconds and display a content protection error message HDCP . To solve this problem, you need to set the transmitter and receiver to different components (unless you have both TVs turned on). Customer service wasn't very good. I emailed them about the HDCP error message issue (before I found the solution myself) and they replied that they didn't know how to fix the problem and that I should send the product back to them for a replacement . Video and audio quality on both TVs is excellent (can't tell if there's a degradation) and the above issues are a little annoying but are far outweighed by the convenience of a wireless receiver. I love the product and would buy it again.

Pros
  • Supports Full HD 1080P uncompressed, 3D content and 5.1ch digital audio
